You Can Throw Me The Statue

One of my favorite record labels, Secretly Canadian, has just released Throw Me The Statue‘s Moonbeams and once again I am not disappointed with the label’s newest add. Based out of Seattle, WA, the band is making all of kinds of headlines with their catchy indie pop tunes. Currently on tour, they will hit dates playing with Le Loup, The Ruby Suns, Born Ruffians, and Cadence Weapon. Anybody playing with Le Loup or Born Ruffians sounds like a great idea to me.
Moonbeams is an overall great indie pop album and doesn’t fail to cover all areas that band creator, Scott Reitherman, wanted to pursue. “Yucatan Gold” sounds like an lighter version of Nine Inch Nail’s “Closer” while “About to Walk” probably covers the area of similar new artist Sea Wolf’s “You’re A Wolf.” It’s an album that was obviously written during the summer which makes me excited for times of better weather. So if you are looking for a great light catchy indie pop album, Throw Me The Statue is where it’s at.
