God Warrior Of The Week

This week’s God Warrior is Ariel Pink!

Ariel Pink is an avant-garde weirdo/musician based out of Los Angeles. He has released numerous albums under the moniker Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, and his bizarre, homemade sound earned him a spot on the Paw Tracks roster as the first non-Animal Collective member to be signed. We are very big fans of everything lo-fi, and Pink embodies this like no other. He often utilizes guitars, 70’s synths, 8-track machines, and creates drum sounds with his mouth to blend together psychedelic and Lite FM dream-pop landscapes.

Pink released Scared Famous, a collection of previously unreleased tracks, in 2007. It is solid. Solid as a rock. Below is his song “Howling At The Moon”, which happens to be my personal favorite off of Scared Famous. Give it a listen!
