Flip No Bird To Peasant

Damien DeRose, otherwise known as Peasant, is an upcoming indie folk artist that oughta get some of you guys’ attention. The boy is straight outta Doylestown, PA and his new album, On The Ground, will drop February 28th. With a softly spoken voice, his quiet lyrics are just perfect when laid over the acoustic tracks. Having heard his EP a while back, I couldn’t wait to hear his first full length. It seems to me that he was probably highly influenced by the likes of Sufjan Stevens and Elliot Smith and that is a-ok with me. He’s going on a small tour in support of his album in the spring, and dates can be found on his myspace. It doesn’t look like he’ll be coming to St. Louis anytime soon, but we can hope that when he’s road tripping to SXSW that he makes a stop for the sake of all of us. A track from the album can be found below.
