Toe Taps and Spastic Claps

A Fleet Foxes Feat

Fleet Foxes is one of those bands that I heard was good, but I never have the time to actually listen to them. But I finally got their latest EP, Sun Giant and of course, I’m regretting that I hadn’t learned about them sooner.

Led by 21 year old, Robin Pecknold, the band demonstrates music similar to Grizzly Bear and Band of Horses, harmonizing to their guitar pulls and slides. “Sun Giant,” the title track of their ep is very reminiscent of the Dirty Projectors vocalizations.  While tracks like “Mykonos” are pop driven and follow the lines of fellow hometowners, Throw Me The Statue.  If you are a fan of pop acoustic folk then please check this band out.  Considering how young the band is, I only expect amazing things from them in the future. Their self titled full length is set to release June 3rd off of Sub Pop Records.

These boys won’t be anywhere near St. Louis or the midwest anytime soon.  So if you happen to be on the west coast make sure to see them. So check out the free track and let’s hope that they come here in the fall.
